It's a pleasure to have you visiting our exciting RTC portion of Regional 8's Website. I ask each one of you to be sure and let me know just what you think this website should be. Questions: We have an area where you can ask gymnastic questions of Marian called Ask a Question. Your gymnastic question, without identification, will be printed on this web site as soon as Marian is able to provide the answer. This area will be a good source of clarifications.
In-Gym Experience Cards: Print out this year's In-Gym card and information HERE! Instructions and dates for the upcoming season are included.
The In-Gym Experience requirement was designed to encourage judges to get in the gym in a training environment. The Region 8 USAG Board feels that viewing the training environment adds an important dimension to a judge's knowledge. The determination of eligibility for In-Gym credit is the experience a judge gets in a live training environment. If the judge is there for an inter-squad arranged in a competitive format, then the time is not eligible for the In-Gym credit. Being paid or not being paid does not affect a judge's ability to use the experience for the In-Gym Card.
Practice Judging: A Session must have a minimum of 32 gymnasts competing to count as one Practice Judging session (8 gymnasts per squad) and all four events must be judged. Effective March 15, 1998, college meets cannot be used for practice judging since they have modified the USAG JO rules. ~minutes from Judges' Certification, Inc., Feb. 22-23, 1998
